Toby currently has 35 years of experience in road building and construction ranging from residential, commercial, to large TDOT roadway projects. Over that period of time, he has built a reputation of integrity and true leadership.
He is a second-generation road builder and has successfully managed local construction road divisions since 1994. He has owned and managed his own paving company, as well as, consulted local cities in their paving construction endeavors. He understands state and federal regulations and has helped the cities in and around Sumner County save money and improve their proper paving procedures, which adds to the longevity of the roadways. He has managed projects ranging from private parking lots to major million-dollar TDOT roadway projects.
Over the duration of his career, he has gained and maintained nearly every city/government paving contract within sixty miles of Gallatin. His experience starts with having the understanding of mix design and what makes a good asphalt mix. He knows he can save the county money in having a better mix design while paying less for it. He understands the proper paving procedures which gives the roads better density and compaction rates, which in turn, adds longer life cycles for the roadways.
At this point in his career, he has a heart for serving his community and is dedicated to the commitment of keeping safer roads for our friends and families during this time of unprecedented growth in Sumner County. Toby and his wife of thirty- two years, Anita, have two sons: Vincent (Lindsey), and Houston. They are members at First Baptist Church (Portland), where Toby serves as a deacon.
